Question: How long can you run a portable DC camping type freezer before it sucks your battery dry?
I wanted to purchase a camping freezer from Dicks to sell ice cream from this summer
Is this the best way to do this or is dry ice?
and if so where do you get dry ice?

It is not going to happen using a battery. 12V “camping” refrigerators will not make and hold 0F and allow for constant use. But, in our VW camper, the NorCold unit will run approximately 12 hours on the second battery if it is not constantly used. It keeps things nice and cold, but a serious freezer it ain’t nohow.
Use Dry Ice and adjust your prices accordingly. And be careful with the proper ventilation. It is heavier than air so if you are in a well-ventilated location you will be fine.
Question: What brand / type of hiking sock should I purchase for a hiking trip through the rainforest during August?
I am going on a long day hike in the el yunque rainforest in August and would like to find a hiking sock that is breathable, but supportive enough to be comfortable. Does anyone have any experience with a particular brand which works well in very high humidity?

winter or summer, I wear merino wool socks with polyester liner sock underneath
they keep my feet more comfortable than anything else I’ve ever tried
cotton is definitely NOT the way to go
Smartwool, Fox River, and L.L. Bean are the brands I prefer
I know wearing wool socks in hot, humid conditions sounds weird but my feet like it

Question: What is the best type of shoe to wear while hiking in the Grand Canyon and other parks nearby?
My girlfriend and I are going to the Grand Canyon but we’ll also be going to Zion and Bryce. The hiking will only be a few miles at a time, none of this half day or all day stuff.
Will a good pair of gym shoes like Nike or New Balance be OK or do you suggest boots?

High tops, boots or high sneakers that are comfy, adn provide lots of protection against plants and snakes. Wear jeans too.
Question: What is the best type of dog to go hiking with?
I have a boxer. He is in great shape, but the fact that he has a punched in nose makes me think he might not be able to hike as well as I would like.
Since I would love a breed to go hiking with on moderate to difficult trails, can anyone tell me a good, friendly breed to go with?

Question: What type of camping stove can burn anything?
I know there is a type of camping stove that can burn pretty much anything (vodka, meths, petrol, other fuel). I know it has a pump on it, and on the other side of the reservoir is the filler cap. It looks like a dual fuel stove, but these seem only to be able to burn its two fuels. Am I wrong?

No Dude you’re not wrong, but you can only find them in Army surplus store’s and they’re kinda rare, But I’ve seen them in surplus cataloges too, They are kindof cool.
Question: What is the best type of mat to endure lots of exercise and doesn’t absorb sweat?
I want to buy a mat that I can do lots of different exercises on, a mat that can endure things like “mountain climbing” and push-ups. I also don’t want it to absorb sweat. What’s the best mat and where can I get it?
