    Glad you liked the video. The poles were Leki’s that I won at Trail Days. They worked great in the mud and definitely took some strain off of my back and legs but I don’t think I’ll be using them on future hikes.

    I’m planning an ultralight pack with a base weight of 5 pounds for my Long Trail thruhike later this year. I hope to have some better videos up about that.

    Thanks for the video. Gives me some great ideas just for day hiking. I tend to overpack so this really helps. What kind of poles were those?

    I actually switched out in Mass after I was down for a few days with Lyme Disease. Besides a slightly bigger pack, from 32 to 44 liter, I only added a sleeping bag. Pack was switched mostly because of the bulk of the bag, didn’t really add much weight. Still in mid 20 pound range rest of the trip and always below 30 pounds even after a decent food resupply.
