On the way you’ll visit the modern ruins of Malibu’s oldest home…the 1865 Keller House. Before getting on the Sostomo trail you’ll get the chance to explore the ruins of the Xanadu like Tropical Terrace where the Robertson’s hired famed African-American architect Paul Williams to create their dream home. Exotic plants, hummingbirds, waterfalls, peculiar abandoned structures, and some of the freshest air in Southern California are all found on this hike!
The purpose of this hike was to tribute to Harry. This was one of Harry’s favorites hiking spots. One of Harry last wishes was to have is ashes thrown into the wind here. The day was overcast and cooled. Tim lead us to the place where Joanie would throw Harry’s ashes into the wind. He gave her some detail instructions on how to do it. She threw his ashes up into the air, and the wind took his ashes away. We will always remember Harry for his humor, and endurance.
The weather was aweful on our trip to Wyoming, it rained, drizzled or snowed almost everyday. My sons Ron and Bob, along with Jim D., Ron C. and Ron C. Jr. first visited Yellowstone Park a few years after the disasterous 1988 fires. We hiked Bunsen Peak in the fog, we explored Observation Point in the snow and we hiked down Glacial Boulder Trail to the bottom of Yellowstone Canyon in the snow and rain. We then explored Yellowstone Falls in the rain. My video camera got wet a few times and sometimes mis-behaved. end of part 1 of 5.

Question: What color cap should I wear when hiking?
I am thinking about going hiking in an area near some hunting grounds. I did this once before and was told to wear an orange hat. I know that hunters wear red and yellow since animals can’t see them but fellow hunters can. So what color hat can I wear when hiking near hunting grounds? Should I wear a lighter or darker shade of this color?

I know this isn’t a food question but I thought a vegetarian or vegan could help. I don’t care for leather and was wondering what big brand companies (e.g. Columbia, Keen, Timberland), make leather free footwear that is suitable for hiking?

My daughter finds DSW, Payless & a few others carrying leather free products. I’m sorry I think you need to go on line or call the companies of those you listed.
